And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus
answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the
kingdom of God!
Luke 16:9-11 (The King James Version (Authorized))
And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon [riches or money] of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.
[ In the WEB (World English Bible) Translation this verse reads, " I tell you, make for yourselves friends by means of
unrighteous mammon, so that when you fail, they may receive you into the eternal tents. "]
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
Matthew 12:18-21 (The King James Version (Authorized))
Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.
He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets.
A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
Matthew 6:25-34
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Gen 2:8 - And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
Luke 23:34 - [Even while nailed on the cross] Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Ephesians 2:4-10
But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
John 14:12-14
